Change the Truth was founded by photographer Gloria Baker Feinstein in 2006, upon her return home from Africa. Gloria was in Uganda as a participant in an NGO workshop and spent the majority of her time photographing at AIDS orphanages.
What she saw and experienced there pretty much turned her life around.
In October, 2007, Change the Truth was recognized as an official not-for-profit orgnaization by the IRS. It has been responsible for sending fourteen children to secondary school. It has also underwritten the purchase of equipment and supplies for a brick-making project that provides the children with vocational skills as well as income for the orphanage.
The goal of Change the Truth is to send additional children to school, help with food, medical care and clothing and assist with various projects that provide vocational training for them. A pen pal program has begun, and plans to bring some of the children to the US for a visit in 2008 are underway.

Michael Mayanja | Orphanage Manager
Michael was born in 1977 in a village called Rubaga a few kilometers from Kampala and grew up with four older brothers. He was not supported much by his father and his mother did earn much money. One of his older brothers saved the little money he got from his first job to pay for Michael to go to school. That is what later inspired him to help children in need. Michael has a BA in Communication Skills and English from Makerere University. He is married to Julie and has a son named Brandon. He has been with St. Mary Kevin Orphanage Motherhood since 2001.
