Gloria Baker Feinstein
Gloria is a professional photographer. She received her Masters degree in photography and graphic design in 1979 from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Her work is widely exhibited, appears in numerous magazines and books, and is held in many corporate and private collections. She has operated her own business as a photographer since 1992 and previously owned and operated a photography art gallery. She serves on the board of the Midwest Center for Holocaust Education.
Eddie Feinstein
Eddie was most recently executive director of Jewish Family Services of Greater Kansas City, a not-for-profit social services agency. Until 2004, he was a senior executive with H&R Block where he was employed for 29 years. He has served on the boards and/or been an officer of The Myasthenia Gravis Foundation (vice chairman), The Jewish Federation, The Jewish Community Foundation, Harvesters, Advisory Board of Operation Breakthrough, The Council for Electronic Revenue Communication Advancement (chairman), The International Television Association (secretary), The Association of Business Communicators (vice president) and Congregation B'nai Jehudah (president). He was appointed to two IRS advisory committees - the Information and Reporting Program Advisory Committee and the Electronic Tax Administration Advisory Committee (chairman). He graduated in 1972 with a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Wayne State University.
Ben Baker
Ben worked in the family business, a metals recycling operation, for his entire adult life until the business was sold in 2003. Presently he is treasurer of his son's business, Injected Performance, a company selling performance enhancement parts for automobiles. He has served on the boards of Sayre School, Central Kentucky Jewish Federation, and Temple Adath Israel, serving as the Temple's president for four years. Ben graduated from Deerfield Academy and went on to receive his Bachelors degree from Northwestern University in 1972.
Clare Osdene Schapiro
A 1981 graduate of the University of Virginia with honors in English and philosophy, Clare has spent over 20 years involved in public relations and marketing non-profit and private corporations. As executive director of the Shockoe Slip Foundation in the early 1980's, Schapiro played an important role in the development of Richmond's National Old & Historic District, and managed the district's extensive special events. From 1999 until 2002, Schapiro served as director of marketing and public relations for Theatre IV, the nation's second-largest theatre for young audiences, and Barksdale Theatre, Richmond's oldest and most prestigious theatre company. Currently, Schapiro serves as a consultant to non-profit arts, literary, cultural and educational organizations and small start-up businesses.
A past president of the Friends of the Richmond Public Library, Schapiro currently serves as a trustee of the Richmond Public Library and as a board member of the Richmond Public Library Foundation, as well as a board member of the Change the Truth Fund. Recently, Schapiro was selected to serve as a Virginia delegate to the Non-Profit Congress, held in 2006 in Washington, D.C.
Lynne Melcher
Lynne is a textile and dinnerware designer based in Kansas City. She has worked for Target in Minneapolis, and Tag in Chicago. She has traveled to India, Bangladesh, and Vietnam to develop products for various retailers. Crate and Barrel, Williams Sonoma, Marshall Field's and Hallmark have all sold her collections.
She attended Smith College, and graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.F.A. in 1983. She has served on a number of boards in Kansas City. They include:
The Marillac Center for Children, The De La Salle Education Center, Kansas City Young
Audiences, and the Jack and Helyn Miller Foundation.
Carol Joseph
Carol is a senior partner in the law firm of Cassin Cassin & Joseph LLP located in NYC which she co-founded in 1986. Carol practices in the firm’s Real Estate Group and specializes in real estate finance and development. She received her B.S. in accounting from New York University in 1981 and her J.D. from Fordham University in 1984 and is a member of the New York, New Jersey and Florida bars. Carol participates in various trade organizations including her membership in the New York State and American Bar Associations, The Florida Bar, The Real Estate Board of New York, Mortgage Bankers Association of America and New York, The National Multi Housing Council (chair-Legal Forum) and The Urban Land Institute. Carol has been actively involved in various philanthropic endeavors since 1994. She is a graduate of the Wexner Heritage Foundation program for leadership and has served on the Board of Directors of the Jewish Community Center in Manhattan since 1995 and on the Board of the Hadassah Foundation since 2007. During her tenure at the JCC, Carol has served on the Executive Committee, Operations Committee, Budget Committee and was chair of the Human Resources Committee.
Susie Corbin
A former elementary school teacher, Susie worked her way from sales to management to consultant in the Human Resources arena. She served as a member of the Kansas City Port Authority, served on the Friends of Turning Point Board and is a docent at the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art. She and her family are committed volunteers at Wayside Waifs Animal Shelter
